• Domperidone

    Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist used to treat nausea, vomiting, and gastrointestinal motility disorders.

    Applications:

    • Relieves nausea and vomiting.

    • Treats gastroparesis by enhancing stomach emptying.

    • Sometimes used to increase breast milk production (off-label).

    Side Effects:

    • Common: dry mouth, abdominal cramps, and headache.

    • Serious (rare): heart rhythm disorders, especially in elderly or high doses.

  • Dimenhydrinate

    Dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine primarily used to prevent and treat motion sickness and nausea.

    Applications:

    • Prevents and relieves nausea, vomiting, and dizziness from motion sickness.

    • Used for vertigo and inner ear disturbances like Ménière’s disease.

    Side Effects:

    • Common: drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, and blurred vision.

    • Serious (rare): confusion (especially in elderly), fast heartbeat, and urinary retention.

    Applications:

  • Rabeprazole sodium

    Applications:

    • Used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers.
    • Reduces stomach acid, promoting healing of the esophagus and ulcers.
    • Effective in treating Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (excessive acid production).

    Side Effects:

    • Common side effects include headache, diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain.
    • Rare side effects include low magnesium levels, bone fractures, and kidney issues, especially with prolonged use.

    Rabeprazole sodium is a helpful treatment for acid-related gastrointestinal issues but, like other proton pump inhibitors, may lead to mild side effects such as headaches or stomach discomfort. Serious side effects are uncommon but should be monitored, especially during long-term use or in individuals with kidney concerns.
